Steam trains
We are running out of oil. Steam trains don’t use oil. They use water.
Steam trains are stronger and faster, pull freight trains and carriages. They have pistons that the
engines move.

Steam trains can get there on coal. They can go to the mines where miners can load them up
with coal and then bring it back. Some of the coal can go into their coal hoppers or tenders.
New Zealand coal makes them go faster.
